Abstract

TETHER: Personalized Mental Sustenance is a satirical branding system for a fictional, long-term space mission that serves as a metaphor to critique digital addiction and isolation. A government-issued “Social Care Kit,” represents the way modern algorithms provide artificial emotional substitutes that trap users within “filter bubbles.” Through the design of speculative packaging and a visual identity system, the project exposes the hollow nature of toxic positivity and the paradox of being “all together alone” in a hyper-connected yet physically isolated world.
