Abstract
listo is a project that unknowingly began while living in Madrid, Spain. While most students take Spanish courses long enough to learn the language, they are not taught the everyday phrases that are most commonly used. Conjugation and vocabulary memorization is important, but conversing with and listening to others is how one truly learns another language.
listo, which can mean either “ready” or “clever” depending on context and verb pairing, is a website and social media account that strives to make learning Spanish a visual experience. It provides the necessary information that one needs in order to live in Spain and feel confident. The website includes relevant vocabulary, pronunciation, phrases, and conjugation charts. While this project is didactic, its use of dynamic typography, and vibrant images bring the language to life. listo is a more exciting and social way to learn a language.
