Vote for Me!

Abstract

We are living in a time of ongoing political change and upheaval, increased consumption of digital and visual content, and rapidly spreading misinformation.

Vote for Me! explores the relationship between branding and political campaigns by posing important questions about the influence of design on individual voting behaviors: How might a logo, typefaces, colors, merchandise, or messaging impact the decision to vote for one candidate over another? How might they elicit a voter’s implicit biases? In branding three different democratic campaigns and asking exhibition visitors to vote for their preferred candidate, Vote for Me! seeks to answer these questions.
