Mouthbreather

Abstract

Mouthbreather, a terrified little creature, has lost her nose at some point in her difficult past. Stunted at childhood but desperate for love and relief, she reaches through the future and makes an earnest attempt to survive the things that haunt her. With the help of a book of poems and a dollhouse full of childlike illustrations, this project aims to comfort the viewer and give them a sense of connection. This thesis explores a reconciliation between the younger and older selves through radical self-acceptance and the kindness of community, in the face of terror, heartbreak and loss.
