Rove of MAA

Abstract

The Rove of Madras is a concept that takes visitors on a journey through time, unravelling the story of Madras and its transformation into the bustling metropolis of Chennai. This thesis is a design for the senses that engages visitors with storytelling. Through various mediums like audio, visual, and interactive installations, the museum helps visitors understand the evolution of Madras to Chennai.

The exhibit is modelled using multiple design formats, including patterns, posters, sensory boards, and a publication explaining the relation of the metaphorical objects to the city. From the bustling streets of George Town to the serene Marina Beach, the Rove of Madras is a visual and sensory delight that captures the city’s essence with metaphorical references. Through its contemporary approach to storytelling, the Rove of Madras offers a unique experience for visitors to connect with the past and present of this vibrant city.
