Abstract
Roughly 2,400 people return to Baltimore City each year after being released from prison or the Baltimore City Pretrial Complex, but there is minimal infrastructure to ensure that people can stay home successfully and permanently. HOPE Defines Us seeks to uplift the incredible work of HOPE Baltimore, an organization dedicated to providing support for formerly incarcerated people, by formerly incarcerated people, to help with this transition. By building support, accountability, and self-worth, HOPE helps Baltimoreans successfully navigate the return to life after incarceration. HOPE Defines Us was created in partnership and collaboration with HOPE staff and members, and aims to share the strength and beauty of their work and stories.
