Abstract
In a world filled with things like and unlike each other, on a floating rock beyond which evidence of life has not yet been found, existence can seem so vast, daunting, or far away. In a series of line illustrations inspired by terrestrial forms, Our Cosmic Insignificance (Or, This Is You, This Is You, This Is Home) samples organic patterns that echo across the microscopic and the macroscopic, aiming to bring that vastness a little closer, to find beauty in the mundane.
